Abstract: An LnflDmmDtor\ response is a general defence mechanism of host immune system to combat invading pathogens. Acute LnflDmmDtLon is a rapid and self-limiting process in which tightly controlled LnflDmmDtLon is critical for host defence, wound healing and maintenance of tissue homeostasis. When the LnflDmmDtor\ cells are not able to eliminate pathogens, however, acute LnflDmmDtLon changes into chronic LnflDmmDtLon that is associated with several disorders including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer.
