Educational technology and mobile learning
It was a time when technology was limited to only telephones, TV, and computers. Cut to 2019 we’re now engulfed with technology. It is nearly impossible to think our daily life without it.
New technologies like AI, machine learning, and educational software aren’t just changing the field for students, they’re shaking up the role of educators, creating philosophical shifts in approaches to teaching, and remodeling the classroom.
With an influx of new learning models available, traditional educational methods are bound to evolve. To get a better sense of where things are heading, Suryadatta has taken a closer look at technology’s developing role in the field of Educational Technology (EdTech) and outlined the advances that could be spelled out for the future.
Let’s go through them one by one.
Educational Technology (EdTech)
Google defines EdTech as ”digital technology used to facilitate learning.”
Students today are always intrigued and engaged in using technology. This engagement opens up doors to remarkable opportunities for schools, teachers and parents. This can make both teachings and learning a fun activity. Classroom sessions are also recorded and send to parents for them to monitor and check their child’s progress. Every student learns differently, and technology allows educators to accommodate unique learning styles on a case-by-case basis. EdTech is quickly replacing the role of textbooks in the classrooms and students are tackling subjects with the aid of tailor-made computer programs that assist their needs. What it does is:
- Inculcates educational values of tools and applications
- Ability to engage children in learning
- Easy to use
- Check the interaction between children and tools
- Observe the positive effects
- Tracks the progress of every child
- Here are the 5 advantages the educators and children will highly benefit from.
Advantages
- Increases efficiency
- Improves collaboration
- Promotes better communication
- Presents extra help
- Provides virtual experiences, multimedia to address all learning styles
